    Marshal D. Carper says:

Blue belts teaching classes is not uncommon. They often jump in to help with beginner’s or basics classes, and they sometimes help with children’s classes too. In some cases, blue belts will even own and run schools. These are usually jiu-jitsu pioneers, working in areas where no other jiu-jitsu schools exist yet. Jiu-jitsu pioneers are not as rare as you might think, even in the United States.

That said, being an instructor at blue belt is a challenging task. A blue belt’s depth and scope of knowledge is limited by his experience, so it can take a gifted blue belt to teach quality classes on a regular basis. If your choice, however, is between blue belt jiu-jitsu and no jiu-jitsu, give the blue belt a chance!
