Your first stripe may take anywhere from 2-6 months, but it could be even longer, since it varies a lot from school to school. Some schools don’t even use stripes. Others use their own special system that’s different than the norm. The IBJJF stripe system is explained here: Why do some BJJ belts have stripes and what do they mean?
Rather than worrying about stripes, or even your blue belt, the best approach is to focus on going to class as much as you can and learning each lesson. The stripes and belts are reflections of your skill and dedication, so don’t mistake the rank as the end prize.
